Wool has always been a sticky situation with me. I have easy-t0-irritate skin (I’m going to have to get into the saga of a nightmare that my skin is currently at a later date) and the scratchiness of wool has always been the bane of my existence.
I love to play with different textures and haven’t really given wool the full opportunity to be appreciated because of a bad experience one time. But I thoroughly blame my lack of self-control when shopping as a teenager which led into the messy foray of cheap and itchy wool.
But now that I have the chance to delve deeper into the world of luxe materials, I’ve begun to grow an appreciation for the rich texture of wool. Besides jackets, I can now also say that I own a pair of wool mittens.
And let me tell you how warm wool can be! My mittens (generously handmade and gifted to me by one of my aunts over Christmas) have zero lining and even on the coldest of days, I can barely feel the crisp wind through the stitches. It’s crazy how insulating wool can be.
