After spending some time experimenting with fashion over the past couple of years, I’ve picked up a couple of tricks that have worked really well for me. They aren’t necessarily solid tricks of the trade, but trends that I’ve noticed that have worked after accidentally stumbling upon them. Today I wanted to share my accessorizing and contrasting textures trick.
I love a little bit of jewelry every now and then, but in all honesty, I sometimes forget to wear the ones that I own or I just seem to get my jewelry caught on every single thing that I wear.
So in times of “jewelry-absentiism”, I’ve found that the easiest way to step up your outfit and to make it seem like you accessorized is by playing with a variety of different textures.
Like jewelry, wearing different textures helps to pull your vision to varying areas of the outfit. Like the way that my ribbed top in contrast to the loose flaps of my silk jacket mimics the attention that would be drawn to my collar bone if I had worn a necklace.
