Being normal can be boring, so I’m always on the lookout for new and fun things to add to my closet that are not only easy to work into the rest of my wardrobe, but also add a little bit of attitude to the look that I put together as well.
Last week, I was invited to attend the Friends & Family pre-shop of the Nordstrom Warehouse Sale by my lovely friend Mel, and I picked up the coolest (well at least in my opinion they are) new pair of shoes. It’s satisfying to say that I’ve also been on the lookout for some brogues as well, so holding out until now proved to be quite rewarding.
I stumbled across these nude Jeffrey Campbell brogues while browsing through the shoe section of the sale and was thoroughly dismayed since they were sized half a size too large for me. Being the optimist that I am, I dutifully threw them into my shopping tote and continued to peruse the rest of the sale.
I wasn’t overly optimistic about them since I knew they were a 6.5 as opposed to my regular 5.5-6 sized feet, so I actually completely forgot that I had them until I finished trying on all of the clothes that were layered overtop of the shoes.
You can’t imagine the joy I felt when I found out that they fit me perfectly. It was like a match made in heaven sort of hallelujah moment. Up until this point I was fairly frustrated because I’d already fallen in love with a pair of d’Orsay VINCE pumps that initially fit well, but after taking a couple of steps, I found out that my right heel kept sliding out of the shoe. I’m sure everyone’s familiar with the feeling of falling in love with something only to find out that it’s not meant to be.
But when it all falls into place, it’s just magical.
I am absolutely in love with the silhouette of these heeled brogues because they don’t have your traditional heel. Instead of a stiletto or a wedged block elevating the shoe, there’s a skeletal frame that illustrates the structural support of the heel. I also can’t complain since it’s silver and I’m such a silver girl. Considering the fact that they’re also surprisingly comfortable, there was absolutely no way I could turn down these unique shoes.
You guessed it, they found a place in my closet and are definitely going to be in there for awhile. I saw a couple other pairs in various sizes as well, and the sale seems to be extended until the 30th, so definitely make sure to stop by and see if you can find yourself something fun! And if you do, let me know what you picked up!
