Spring is almost officially around the corner and I’ve recently been doing a full purge of my closet to make way for all the new things that will be coming in soon. I frequently bring back to Ottawa all the different things that I no longer wear or use, but since I don’t currently have any upcoming plans to visit home, I felt that it would be best to try my hand at consigning with MCouture again. If that name rings a bell, it’s because I’ve listed some of my spring cleanouts on the site in the past!
I love how easy they make it to consign my designer items (there’s no hassle of low ballers or dealing with people who want to bargain to their wits end so it’s always one of my go-to’s whenever I’m thinking of reselling any of my designer pieces. One of the pieces that I’m going to be relinquishing this year is my beloved Tory Burch Caroline flats. These were one of the very first pair of designer shoes that I purchased on a trip to New York way back when I was still in school and I loved them to bits. The only problem was that I never quite wore them because I was too afraid of damaging them!
Since then, my style has changed quite dramatically and I haven’t found myself reaching for flats in general anymore, though I still adore them quite a bit. Playing it safe when I began my first foray into designer pieces, I still to this day love how practical the neutral colour of these flats are! I literally can’t envision a single outfit colour palette that they wouldn’t match with. Besides being an outfit lifesaver for days when I couldn’t think of what to wear for shoes, I’ve also counted on these flats as my feet lifesaver after a crazy night out. Back then I used to love carrying larger bags, making it super easy to tuck these into a dust bag and then bringing them out with me. You can’t imagine how many times I’ve changed into these after leaving a club only to give my feet some much deserved rest. Trust me, these flats are literal miracle workers in more ways than you think! But because I haven’t found myself reaching for them in the past few years, I’ve come to the conclusion that they deserve a better home with someone who can look back on all the miracle-moments that these shoes will do for them!
The world of fashion comes with so much waste, and I’m a huge proponent of resales so that together we can reduce the amount of waste, and also give old treasures some new homes. One man’s trash is another’s treasure, am I right? At least in this case, it’s still treasure regardless of whoever’s hands these flats fall into! If you’re also a fan of sustainable fashion and being able to give your old clothes and accessories a second life, I would highly recommend that you give MCouture a click-through to either list your own items, or to even browse through what other people have listed themselves! I know that I have my eye on these ridiculously cute and classic looking pair of Celine’s right now!
