I’d like to consider myself to be quite healthy and active (or at least I like to lead myself to believe that). When I’m not busy hitting up the gym, I make the most of my opportunities and walk around everywhere that I can. Even if you see me riding the esclator, I’m most likely going to be on the left side running up impatiently.
The only time that you’ll ever catch me in an elevator is when I’ve had a long day and really need to get off my feet for a couple of minutes, otherwise I’m always on my feet attempting to burn a couple of calories here and there.
You know, from consuming all of those lattes, macarons and stacks of pancakes. That sugar has to go somewhere! Sometimes I joke around that I workout just to eat. But in all honesty, I really love the high that I get from doing any form of exercise.
That adrenaline rush really gets me going, and where some people take pre-workout to achieve that pump, my adrenaline rush is all that I need.
Fast forward to a year of working full-time along with blogging full-time on the side, I’ve lost my initial drive to hit the gym. It’s difficult to make time for all of the extra components of your life with you’re so busy making progress in the others.
It’s difficult trying to find the time to go to the gym when your personal schedule is already all-over the place – but I’ve found a somewhat of a placebo effect into tricking myself into thinking that I’m still fit. Sporting inspired clothing.
I’ve got my Yankees cap on and my Superstars all laced up and ready to go. If I really did need to do some sort of 100 m dash, I’d probably be good. Granted that I’d need to hike up my shirt, I’m already wearing a sports bra underneath, which means that I’ll be ready for action whenever it befalls me right?
Probably not with these shorts, but as long as I can continue to tell myself that I’m prepped for any sport, I can continue to believe that my body is physically fit!
But seriously though, I really do need to start hitting the gym again and not just tricking myself into being healthy by just wearing workout clothes.
