All puns aside, I seriously popped my cherry with colour and injected more of it into my life recently. If you’re been around for awhile, then you’ll know that I haven’t quite worn any colour outside of neutrals for the past few years. I swore off anything vibrant and stuck to the basic black, white, grey, brown, navy—essentially ‘safe’ colours. Why? Because it was easy to match the different pieces together. But what I learned was that being a blogger means that that’ll never matter because you rotate through your clothes so fast that you’ll rarely ever end up re-wearing the same things more than 2-3 times at most. Which also means that mixing and matching isn’t really a thing, at least for me that is.
Over the past few years, as I’ve learned the behaviours of my wardrobe, and how frequently I rotated through my clothes, I slowly opened up to the idea of re-introducing colour again. Diving head first into the colour game, for some reason I started wearing the one colour that I had always sworn off – red. I doubt that you’ll ever see me in a head-to-toe red outfit, but pops of colour here and there will be be how I reacquaint myself back into the colour spectrum. First off on the checklist, accessories. I felt that if I wanted to integrate colour back into my wardrobe, what better way than to slowly ease into it with accessories? I’m not fully ready to commit to an entire closet full of vibrants, but this is a good start! I liked the look, and could even see myself wearing a bright red puffer down the road. Who knows, I could be turning a new leaf!
Have you ever shifted your fashion sense so drastically before? And are you loving this new pop of colour in my outfits? Let me know what you think of the re-introduction of vibrant shades into my repertoire!
