Off-the-Shoulder Top – ZARA // Culottes – NA-KD Fashion // Lace-Up Flats – ZARA // Necklace – Cuchara
In continuation with the white for summer series, I’m combining two of my current obsessions: white and off-the-shoulder tops. By now, everyone and their grandma probably owns an off-the-shoulder top. Okay, probably not grandmas, but kudos to all the 65+ that are confident enough to rock their décolletage at that age.
If you’ve been following along with my Instagram, you’re probably well aware of how many off-the-shoulder tops that I own. I’ve probably purchased one in every shade possible under the sun. Black, white, blue, navy, you name it! But my absolute favourite one is this little three-piece number from ZARA.
Most off the shoulder-tops are designed with a ginormous kneckline that you slide your arms into, but the downside of those is that if you sit and lean forward, the entire world can see into your collar and get a free show. Now I don’t know about you, but my strapless bras aren’t exactly the most presentable. If I wanted everyone to see what I was wearing underneath, I’d go with a cute strapless bikini – but I digress.
I love how the bell sleeves of this top are actually additional components that are attached on the sides of the top, making it not only easier to maneouver your arms (you won’t have to worry about accidentally exposing your chestal area), and more comfortable overall. And the flared silhouette of the top gives off a nice feminine yet bold touch. I like to call this my little white wonder. Side note, this top is also currently on sale. I often take the opportunity of an exposed neckline to dress things up a bit, and I’ve recently been gravitating to this Cuchara choker/necklace to kick things up a knotch. If you suffer from a short torso (or even a flat chest like me), I’d recommend picking up a necklace like this. The additional hanging strand really helps to elongate the torso, which in turn makes you look a little taller – style hack!
