It’s that time of the year again, when besides staying warm, I want everything festive. Red isn’t often a color that I find in my everyday routine, but as the days get closer and closer to Christmas, I find that the color makes its way into my life. Sometimes in the most inconspicuous of ways.
- Zipped Bouclé Coat (Zara) – $129.00
A big duster coat is must for me. Purely out of comfort, functionality and a little because of trend as well. Lose and boxier fits are very much in the now and I love how well a duster coat pairs with a pair of slacks and oxfords. Albeit I’d probably be wearing granny socks to cover up that sliver of skin between the cuffs of my pants and my shoes. - Scalloped Edge Glass Candle (Chapters) – $23.00
I absolutely love Voluspa Candles and can’t get over how purely scented they are. I recently ran into some trouble with one that I had purchased from Chapters, and that the wick burnt out after I had only burnt the wax down a half of a centimeter. The lovely cashier at my local Chapters willingly allowed me to exchange it for a new one with no questions asked, and now I can continue to burn one of my all-time favorite scents! - Gone Girl (Chapters) – $8.50
I’ve been wanting to read this thriller novel ever since I heard about it from Youtube and being available on Audible. Now that it’s a major motion picture (I’m a huge proponent of reading novels before watching films), I want to read it all that much more. For any of my readers that have both read the book and watched the movie, which one was better? - Studded Cuff Mug (Starbucks) – $11.95
Because coffee wakes me up in the morning and gets me going. Coffee mugs shouldn’t be boring! I love the studded detail on the base of this ceramic mug as well as the giant gold dot on the centre. I’m tempted to Sharpie in my favorite Starbucks order. - Stag Bottle Stopper (Shopbop) – $24.00
I’ve recently gotten into drinking wines, and obviously my bottles aren’t going to get demolished in one sitting (okay maybe sometimes). So I need something to seal it. If I’m going to get a stopper, I might as well go all out with this adorably looking stag one. - Glitter Ankle Boots (Zara) – $99.90
Why? Ask why not. These are the perfect nod to the red slippers Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz, but with a slightly edgy twist. - Essie Winter 2014 Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low (Essie) – $10.00/each
If you’re a long time reader of my blog then you’ll understand how much of an Essie freak I can be. With self-levelling formulas and amazing cremes that go on opaque within 2 coats, how much more can you ask for? Well, I could ask for their gel line, except that it’s only available in salons. Oh well, a girl can dream right? - Color Sensational® Creamy Mattes In Craving Coral (Maybelline) – $8.00
I picked up this lovely red shade while backstage at the Maybelline Studios of WMCFW15 and can’t seem to put it down. I’ve heard that finding the perfect red lippie is quite the adventure, but before this one, I was never yet on the hunt. Since finding this one, I think it’s safe to say that I’ll never have to experience the trials and tribulations of struggling for the perfect red lippie. - HÅRTE (IKEA) – $14.99
The overhead light in my room isn’t quite luminous enough to brighten up my work space, so I’ve been looking for minimal desktop lighting options that allow me to maximize my workspace as opposed to sacrificing it for a lamp. The thin base as well as the flexible head make this LED desk lamp extremely easy to set and readjust to suit my needs while only taking up a small portion of my work space. - The Classic in Rose Gold/Grey Leather (The Horse) – $186.70
I’ve long been a fan of the Australian timepiece brand The Horse and have admired their clean and simple aesthetic. With the release of their new Classic collection, I couldn’t help but fall in love with some of their pieces again. I’ve been on the search for a light colored watch and something with a leather strap since all three of the ones that I currently own are links. Anyone up for sending a Christmas gift my way? - Silver Street Bottle Opener (Chapters) – $30.00
I don’t drink beers, but P and many of my friends do, and I’m often stuck prying open bottles with a towel. This would also make a nice addition to my barcart (the one that I dream that I own in my head).
