Right now I’m supposed to be in Italy with the MDVP crew, but as the world would have it, we’re still amidst a pandemic and all international travel has more or less ceased for the foreseeable future. Over the past few months, I’ve done a little dance with my wardrobe and shifted from being motivated to dressing in business casual on my busy work days, to spending a lot of time in my sweats. But now that the weather has shifted a bit and it’s gotten significantly warmer out, I can’t help by want to wear my best dresses and to break out all of my cute summer clothes. I’m supposed to be wearing them in Italy as we speak right now, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t just wear them at home instead!
And even though we can’t really be together traveling at the moment, MDVP has found some ways to still spend time together in the form of virtual BBQs (thank you ZOOM for making this possible!), Netflix parties (hello binge marathons), and even brunching together! You can take the girl away from her favourite brunch spots, but you can’t stop her from brunching!
This Saturday, Mel and I decided to bust out our favourite summer dresses and to have a virtual brunch party together and reminisce back on the good days when we would take brunching casually for granted—it isn’t a Toronto summer without some obligatory patio brunches. And since we can’t be out and about we freely as we would like, why not have our own virtual patio brunch together? But did you really have brunch if you didn’t get dressed up in a cute outfit and take pictures of it as well? The answer is no, no you didn’t.
You guys know that I have a preference for white outfits, especially cute white summer dresses, so this little bodycon RW&Co. number won best dressed (haha get it?) for this weekend’s plans. Not only is the material cool to the touch (great for those hot summer days), but also comfortable enough to move around in without feeling restricted—even though it fits like a glove. I can eat as much as I want and by some sort of witchcraft, this dress never reveals my food babies!
If only I also had this dress back in January when I was searching high and low for one for my bridal shower, it would have been perfect! For all of the brides out there who are looking for a back up dress if your’s is currently still stuck with the seamstress for alterations and are planning to move forward with a smaller wedding during the pandemic, this is a phenomenal option. The dress is both chic, simple, and affordable, making it the perfect wedding dress for someone who still wants to be able to celebrate without breaking the budget. Plus you can 100% rewear this dress afterwards as well without worrying that it’s too formal, delicate, or expensive to wear out casually. I see this as a win-win!
Top Row (L-R): Sleeveless Bodycon Square-Neck Dress, Olive Green Pointelle Bodycon Knit Dress, Fit And Flare Pleated Skirt Dress, Belted Bodycon Knit Dress, Belted V-Neck Shift Maxi Dress
Bottom Row (L-R): Frilled Fit And Flare Floral Dress, Fit And Flare Pleated Skirt Dress, Belted V-Neck Cropped Leg Slub Jumpsuit, Sleeveless Mini Shift Dress With Shoulder Bow, Short Sleeve Buttoned Jumpsuit
I’ve also included a round up of some of my other favourite RW&Co. dresses as well because they’re currently hosting a 40% off sale on all of their dresses and jumpsuits. With countries and cities around the world slowly re-opening from quarantine, you’re going to want to stock up on these cute pieces for the upcoming fun summer brunches once we’re in the clear to get brunch with our friends again! Make sure to pop over to Mel’s blog to find out which dress she picked out for our virtual patio brunch!
I love that white dress and gorgeous pictures 🙂 xo
