It may be May (ha!), but it certainly doesn’t feel like spring just quite yet. The weather is cooler than usual, but I refuse to let the strange weather deter me from celebrating spring as I normally would. I try to be healthy and wholesome all year round, but there’s something about the Spring that motivates me even more than ever to work harder. One of my biggest goals has always been to cut down on the amount of coffee that I drink. I used to hate the taste of coffee when I was younger, but relying on it heavily through University resulted in me becoming addicted and now I can’t begin any day without first having a dose of caffeine.
I’ve been hoping to decrease my caffeine intake by slowly transitioning over to tea and so far it’s gone well! I’ve always loved a good London Fog, but the milk content in it doesn’t always settle well with my stomach. For now it’ll do to replace my second coffee of the day, but eventually I’d love to be able to drink tea completely all day long without an urge for caffeine. If you’ve detoxed from coffee and switched over to tea, or just even completely removed coffee from your diet without replacing it with anything else, let me know your journey! I’d love to hear everyone’s stories and what has worked for you! So welcome to my May Lust Listt, featuring an abundant compilation of tea supplies:
- Teavana® Youthberry® Loose-Leaf White Tea (Starbucks) | $11.95
I was walking down Bloor Street the other week and happened by some Teavana employees that were handing out free tea samples. The rose colored tea is what drew me in, and after having a sip, I just knew that I had to have more. I typically don’t like flavored teas and prefer herbal ones, but the floral flavor from the rose and hibiscus petals is what really sold it to me. - Riklig (IKEA) | $9.99
I’m into minimalistic decor, and my plastic tea pot hasn’t been keeping my tea as hot as I’d like, so I decided to start looking into some glass tea pots. The only issue that I kept running into was that the teapots I liked were ridiculously expensive, so when I came upon this reasonably priced one from IKEA, I knew that I’d hit the jackpot. - Modern-Muse Cat Eye Sunglasses (Forever 21) | $6.80
Ever since I got my first pair of reflective sunnies, I can’t help but want more. Clearly since I already have a black one, it only makes sense to add a white/clear pair to my collection! - Triton Bikini (Delta) | $56.56
Neoprene swimsuits are a favorite of mine, as the material not only lifts up my non-existent assets but keeps bigger “goose bumps” hidden from plain sight when it gets too cold outside. - Classic Mug with Infuser (Tea Ave) | $14.99
I recently came across this tea carrier on Instagram and decided to check out their site to see what products they carried and came about their adorable little tea cups. Having an infuser inside of a cup is attracively functional since it cuts down on the amount of things that you have to wash after drinking your tea. Need a teapot anymore? Nope! Steep directly into your cup and you’re good to go! - Embossed Backpack (Zara) | $89.00
Not only are backpacks coming back in fashion, but are good on your shoulders as well. After spending years carrying around a tote and noticing a slight dip on my dominant shoulder, switching to a double strapped backpack (and actually wearing it properly) has significantly improved my posture and back pain. - Knotted High Heel Sandal (Zara) | $49.90
Less is always more (queue my simple everyday pieces of clothing), and the delicate knots on these heels are perfect. - Socker (IKEA) | $24.99
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to own my own giant greenhouse that I could walk into each morning and water my plants. Alas, living in a busy city hasn’t made it any easier for me to attain this dream, so settling for a miniature greenhouse will do for now. - Cactaceae (IKEA) | $3.99
When you have a black thumb, the easiest way to have plants and not worry about them dying is to invest in some hardy cactus and air plants. The rise in popularity of cactuses (or is it cacti?) has significantly raised prices to the point where they sell for $10-15 for each individual small pot. But IKEA has maintained their affordable prices, which is attractive to a cactus enthusiast like me.
LOVE THIS.
