Last week after I consigned my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag with MCouture, I was instantly left with a longing to fill in its spot with a new bag. But the problem persists that I’m currently on a self-induced bag ban for the next couple of months. Luckily, Lust Designer Consignment reached out to me to test drive a couple of the bags in their roster and I was able to fulfill that bag longing without the long term commitment.
Similarly to other consignment stores, Lust Designer Consignment boasts a large library of designer bags that can be purchased. But the true claim to fame of their business model is the rental component. Consignment purchases typically net below the total purchase cost of a brand new bag (and sometimes these bags are even brand new themselves!), but these purchases still remain as large investments. To put it in perspective, some of these bags are worth the same value as 2 years worth of gas for your car. When you think about it like that, it’s a little daunting.
And for someone who loves to stay on top of the trends, purchasing new bags constantly is definitely not within the realm of my financial plans. Lust Designer Consignment boasts a roster of the top most coveted bags – which you can totally rent, and use without the commitment of purchasing one of your own. Unlike other consignment stores, LDC doesn’t carry your tacky mom’s 50 year old bag with oversized hardware, but the most lusted after bags such as the Chloe Drew, the Celine Classic, and this Chanel 2.55 Medium Class Double Flap. How are these bags not already dancing in your dreams?
So go on, indulge in a little bit of luxury bag lusting without the financial commitment.
