T-Shirt – H&M (in-store only) / Skirt – Zara / Sneakers – Lacoste / Hat – Aldo / Bag – Gucci
That’s right, it’s time to know thy boobs. I apologize for the complete lack of activity on my blog and Instagram this past week. I decided that it was time for a bit of social R&R on my end and wanted to take some time off to recharge. But I don’t often get the chance to touch on charitable causes here and felt that this would be an appropriate one to discuss seeing as it was something that occurred within my family – breast cancer. And considering that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s only fitting to raise the discussion and it’s time to Rethink Breast Cancer. Although we’re already more than halfway through the month, it’s better late than never right?! Totally not being sponsored for this, but I really support it and wanted to raise awareness to all of the wonderful organizations that are working hard to raise money for awareness and research. Here are some of my favourite brands from many who have chosen to partner with Rethink this month:
H&M
H&M has partnered with Rethink to produce a limited edition series of unisex T-shirts (I’m wearing one in this post) that helps to spread breast awareness and to fundraise for the organization. Through the partnership, 100% of the proceeds from sales will be going back to Rethink. And if customers make a donation by rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar or any specific amount, H&M will donate a minimum of $5,000 on top of the proceeds!
If you guys remember typing in 5318008 into your calculators as a kid and then flipping it upside down to readout ‘boobies‘, then their 8008135.com campaign will bring back some good memories! As part of the campaign, H&M has created a hotline to provide education for anyone interested in calling in and learning more! For the month of October, you’ll only be able to get ahold of the tees in select H&M Canadian stores!
Calligaris Toronto Store
I am so in love with this pink chair and am seriously considering getting one for myself! Of course I’ll have to convince P to be okay with a pink chair in our place, but at least 100% of the proceeds from sales of the Saint Tropez Chair ($500) will be going back to Rethink. If you’re thinking of getting one for yourself, you’ll be able to pick one up between now and September 2018 – remember to save me one!
Smythe
From the beloved Canadian brand, comes a pink spin to their most popular blazer – the Pink Duchess Blazer ($595). Smythe has comitted to donate $50 for each sale of the blazer back towards the organization.
But besides Rethink, many other brands are also supporting the awareness of the month through their own means, and I wanted to share some of my favourite ones of others as well:
David Yurman
In support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, David Yurman is donating 20% of proceeds from sales of the David Yurman Starburst Single Station Bracelet with Pink Sapphires ($475).
Estee Lauder
If you didn’t already know, The Estée Lauder Companies’ is actually a conglomerate of multiple beauty brands, and 12 of the, are supporting the mission to create a breast cancer-free world! Here are some of their contributing products and their donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). If you’re already a fan of these products, make sure to pick up the supporting versions this month to support this cause!
Estée Lauder Limited-Edition Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II with Pink Ribbon Keychain
From September 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018, 20% of sales will be donated.
Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme with Invigorating Rosemary Mint Aroma
From September 24, 2017 – September 22, 2018, $4 from each purchase, with up to a maximum of $331,000 will be donated.
Jo Malone London
Although no specific products will impact the donation, the brand will be donating $60,000 directly to the foundation.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
You guys know how much I already love this primer, so I’m so happy to know that $5 from each purchase will contribute towards the total $20,000 that the brand will be donating.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
Although Origins has a super cute design specifically geared towards this initiative, they to will be donating a total amount of $50,000 towards the cause as opposed to a specific dollar value per product purchase.
Tom Ford Beauty
Again no particular sales from products will contribute to the total, but the brand has promised to donate $55,000 towards the foundation.
Those are just a few of my favourites from The Estée Lauder Companies, but there are definitely more. So make sure to check in with your sales associate before purchasing see if your brand is also participating in this phenomenal initiative!
