Knits, Ropes, and Knots

Happy Hump Day! I can’t believe that we’re officially 10 days away from Christmas! Isn’t that crazy? I’m not 100% done my Christmas shopping yet and it’s stressing me out a little, but I’m confident that I’ll be able to get it all in order by the end of this week. Speaking of which, if you’re stressed out too about all of the hectic holiday gifting, have you entered my giveaway to win a free Hammam & Gommage treatment at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel? If not, what’re you waiting for? Clocks a’ tickin’!

I grabbed this crepe cropped top and wrap skirt last month during Aritzia’s clientele sale and wanted one last opportunity to wear them both out before the weather got too cold. Since it’s been abnormally warmer than usual for this time of the year, I took advantage of our summery weather and risked the chance of being cold with this outfit. Luckily for me the weather cooperated!

I was so drawn to the side-tie feature of this skirt because it was reminiscent of those wrap-around ones that you’d find at flea markets back in the 90s. Yeah, I was a stylish one – not really, but I thought that I was!

Remember those hand painted sarongs that everyone would wear in the summer over their one-piece swimsuits by the beach? Yep, I had my fair share of a collection of them! It was too hard to pass this skirt up when it reminded me so much of my childhood.

I’ve also been contemplating my sweater/knit collection lately. I feel like I don’t have enough – or maybe I just always feel like I don’t have enough. I’m not quite sure, but I haven’t been satisfied with my collection as of late. I’ve been wanting to expand and grow that section of my closet with more turtlenecks and cardigans and boy was I glad when I stumbled onto this comfortable Bench. Canada cardi!

Floor length hems do wonders for creating the illusion of height, and they also add an extra layer of warmth to your legs when you’re meandering around in a skirt in the middle of winter. Which I highly don’t recommend you doing!

I also loved how it was an off white colour (let’s be artistic and call it egg-shell shall we?) which helped to add depth to my outfit since my top is already white. Added to the fact that it’s a chunkier knit and you’ve basically secured the perfect cardigan for the winter!

I can definitely forsee myself snugglin’ up in this cardi in front of the fire over the holidays – cheese much? I really can’t help it. I’d probably compare it to our modern day Snuggie because of on point the silhouette is. But that the same time, it’s large and warm enough to want to cuddle.
