Home is Canada

I moved to Toronto a little over a year ago to pursure my dreams of becoming a digital content creator. Leaving behind my friends and family, it was a stressful and anxiety inducing decision to uproot my life and home and restart in a new place.

With no definitive steps, I was scared. But I can’t being to explain how invigorating it felt to finally be able to chase after my passion of creating content.

h2

One year later, I can definitely say that it’s been the best decision that I’ve made to date and don’t regret a single moment of it.

h26

I’m so excited to officially announce on my blog that Peace Collective has chosen me to be a part of their #PeaceAmbassadors campaign in order to share my story on achieving success and chasing after my dreams! So buckle up, because we’re about to get a little intimate!

I’ve always felt that there was a creative side to me. It started out with making friendship bracelets in elementary school, to which then moved onto drawing manga in middle school. When I got to highschool and wanted to focus more on my schoolwork to secure a spot in a “prestigious” university, I let go of that creative passion and poured my time and effort into studying.

h33

But with all of that studying came a hunger and thirst for me to be able to express myself in ways that weren’t so constrained. I began my blog in the second year of highschool just to see where it could take me.

h32

At the time, I was extremely obsessed with makeup and nail art. My blog first started of with simple reviews of products that I purchased and used. I then went on to share some photos of nail art that I did. If you dig back far enough, I’m sure that you’ll be able to unearth all of ungodly photos that I took without the proper understanding of lighting and how to properly use a camera. But I digress.

h27

Throughout university, my involvement with my blog slowly diminished until I stopped posting on it altogether. It came to the point where I didn’t have time for anything else except for reading textbooks from cover to cover, and memorizing slides verbatim.

Upon graduation, I realized that I was unsure as to where I wanted to go with my life. I didn’t exactly want to pursue career in the sciences, so I felt lost when all of my friends found their paths and I was left behind.

h39

I passed the time by posting on blog again until I realized that creating digital content was what I was truly passionate about.

I’m so glad to have been supported by so many people who have helped me on this path to build a career based on digital content – which most likely didn’t even exist 5-10 years ago. To think that I originally wanted to become a doctor.

h16

Looking back on the past now, I’m so glad that I stayed true to my heart and allowed myself to explore my creative side which led me to where I am today. Although many mistakes were made and time was lost, I regret nothing and wholeheartedly embrace the future with open arms.
