We’re about a little over one week away from Christmas, and I’ve already had my fair share of holiday parties! Between office parties to gingerbread decorating nights with the girls, although it’s all for the same reason, there are a variety of different outfits that you could chose from.
I’ve penciled into my calendar all of the different holiday parties that I have to attend for the month of December and only just realized how many there are. And sure it may be fun to party all month long, wearing the same outfit twice is definitely a fashion faux-pas.
Especially if everyone’s taking photos. You don’t want to wake up to 2 weekends in a row of photos with the exact same outfit plastered all over Facebook.
For the sake of helping you pick out the most outstanding outfit for any holiday party you may be attending, I’ve put together a variety of looks. This one is more suitable for the glammed-up, black-tie charity dinner gala. You can never go wrong with a floor-length dress accompanied by a sexy backless design.
I’m especially in love with the chain detailing on the back of this dress as it elevates the whole look beyond your regular bodycon dress. Plus the zig-zagging of the chain going back and forth really helps to cinch in the waist and simulate a slimmer torso overall.
But such a sexy back comes with a price – cold. I wanted to keep the entire look as plush, luxurious, and as dressy as possible. So instead of going for my everyday peacoat, I felt when better than now to bust out my H&M x Balmain faux-fur jacket?
On your typical day, this jacket would be too overwhelming to wear to work or to go shopping, but a holiday party mixed with chilly weather turns into the perfect equation for a fur jacket. Trust me, no one else would ever doubt your fashion skills if you showed up at a party dressed like this.
I also love the faux-leather belt that comes with the jacket. It’s kind of convenient to have a waist-cinching jacket. It’s pretty self-defeating to wear a jacket in order to avoid the cold, only to have it flapping around the wind all evening long.
But because chain on the back dangles all the way to my knees, I already felt that there was more than enough hardware going on in the outfit. Instead of stacking on the jewelry, accessorizing with a dark lip would be the perfect complement to such an already vampy outfit.
