Just when we thought that summer was over, Toronto faced an unprecedented heat wave for two weeks. We literally haven’t had an enjoyable summer for the entire season since the weather kept swaying back and forth between a few humid days and chilly rain days. Definitely not what you call a good summer. While we were in Portugal, we received regular updates from our friends back in Canada that the temperature was dropping, and that we had left at just the right time. I wasn’t looking forward to coming back to sweater weather so soon after enjoying a week or two of sun and warmth. Luckily for us, the chilly temperatures didn’t last long.

Soon after we were back, the weather picked back up and we shifted into a heat wave. The past two weeks of 30+ degree weather that we’ve experienced is undeniably the summer that we never had. And boy am I glad that it’s warm again. In celebration of the warmer weather, I decided that a new addition to my sunglasses collection was in order. And hey, if it gets cold quickly again, I can just take them on a future trip somewhere. Who’s to say that my sunglasses are dictated by the warmth, it’s just as sunny here in the winter!

Recently I was strolling around inside Nordstrom and happened upon the most beautiful pair of Celine sunnies, but couldn’t quite justify the almost $600 price tag after taxes. Added to the fact that they had next-day shipping on them, I was instantly sold. How could I not?
