Fair warning, this is going to be quite the long post. So grab your coffee, fluff some pillows, do what you have to do to get comfy before you start reading this. Are you ready? Okay, let’s go.
Like any other savvy shopper, I’m a sucker for a good sale. If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, then you would have already known that I went on a little shopping spree at the brand new WINNERS location at Yonge+Dundas Square. I was invited by LOU LOU Magazine to check out the brand new space on opening day and my immediate reaction was an over exuberant ‘heck yes!’ which followed with the dread of how much damage my credit card was about to face. But the feeling quickly passed when I reminded myself that I would be shopping at WINNERS and not at Holt Renfrew.
Although it may still be summer, I’m already on the hunt for my fall wardrobe. It’s quite hard to stay within season when all of the magazines are already sharing fall/winter trends! Last Fashion Week already showcased the upcoming trends for the next season, so it’s not as if I didn’t already have sweaters and jeans on my mind.
WINNERS in Ottawa already has a decent selection, so when I found out that the College and Bloor locations in Toronto has a “Runway” selection, I was instantly drawn to frequent those ones. Being situated in tourist central, I doubted that the Yonge+Dundas location would have a good selection. Opening day drew a lineup down the street, so me going after I got off work didn’t exactly bode for the best options. Except I was wrong.
I basically stumbled onto the jackpot of a fall closet – #WINNERSFabFinds. In between a variety of layering options, tons of suede, velvet, oversized blouses, and New Victorian styles (think high necklines and tones of delicate lace), I was swimming in options. Narrowing down my options was more harrowing than prepping for a job interview.
My goal wasn’t to break the bank so early on before fall is actually here (I can always go back for seconds), so I limited myself to one outfit. I walked away with some amazing deals on killer brands, so I’m quite sure that future trips back to the Yonge+Dundas location are imminent. If you get the chance to stop by the new space, let me know what deals you score!
