I really don’t know how I shot this look, considering it was frigid cold outside (exhibit A – the snow), but I just had to since the snow reflected off of my peach trousers so well. The whole idea behind this outfit was comfort. Taken back during the holidays, all that I had done that day was go out for sushi with P, and when we go AYCE style, I like to make sure that there’s enough waistband room for the mountains of food that I’m going to consume. When it comes to draping, figure and form can be lost beneath all of the layers. In order to still have a shape to the outfit underneath all of the layers, I like to play with different methods of tucking fabric and colorblocking to put my waistline back into a look that’s meant to let it grow. Fake it till you make it right? I did the same twist-tuck technique that I used in the outfit post where I talked about why silk is a dominant fabric in my closet. If you couldn’t tell, this black tank is also a silk slip that is the perfect length for tucking, which worked out perfectly in favor of this outfit since that was exactly what I intended. Keep in mind that these photos were taken immediately after coming home from the AYCE sushi, so I’m quite satisfied with how well it “faked” my waistline even though I felt as bloated as a whale.

Thank you Annie! The trousers were definitely comfy, and as funny as it may sound, it feels as if I’m not wearing any pants at all! I’m glad that you enjoyed my post 🙂
