One of the most common questions that I get when it comes to the topic of the wedding is “Have you picked your date and venue yet?” The same response that I give each and every single time is “no“. The reason? Since we don’t plan on being wed till 2020, we figure there isn’t a need to rush with any of the process. When it happens it’ll happen. But the one thing that I can for sure confirm that I’ve done is tried my hands at some floral crowns.
In a previous post, I recapped my experience of taking a BeMakeful survey which identified me as a modern-boho bride, entailing lots and lots of flowers. Totally on track with my pace and style if I do say so myself! In the past few years, my love of flowers has grown and I love having fresh blooms in our place whenever possible. That being said, if possible, I would love our wedding to be fueled by flowers. Besides bouquets and centre pieces, I would ideally have the bridal party each have a floral crown of some sort!
But when it comes to flowers, the trickiest thing is cost. Flowers can wrack up quite the bill and I wanted to try my hand at a DIY to reduce the overall cost. Remember that DIY floral crown tutorial that I found on BeMakeful? Well it definitely came in handy. I spent this past week and weekend practicing my flower crown skills and I believe that it’s safe to say that I’m getting there! I have now narrowed down which flowers I like to include, along with a rough colour palette. I’ll definitely have to continue practicing to nail the design perfectly, but with 2 years to go, I’m not feeling rushed at all!
