Dancing in Decadence

A couple of weeks back, I got the chance to attend an event celebrating the release of Marc Jacobs’ new fragrance launch. Moving away from their typical fragrances that are fairly young, girly, and flirty, Decandence was created to suite the Daisy girl who’s grown up. Oddly enough, that’s me – to a tee.

When Daisy was first launched, I was a huge fan. The light floral scent that isn’t overly heavy and musky was easily a permanent figure on my perfume shelf. In fact, it still is.

Writing out this blog post, I’m looking at my perfume bottles and both Daisy and Fresh are still sitting there proudly.

Besides being the perfect summer scent, all Marc by Marc Jacobs’ perfumes have had quite a long staying power for me – which is a huge plus in the summer when you’re sweating up a storm.

I’ve also recently begun switching up my scent as the seasons change and have found that Daisy isn’t quite musky enough for the cooler months of the year.

I’ve never been keen for anything that’s overly heavy and can only do so much musk, so the sweeter but tart notes of Decandence was perfect for the upcoming fall season.

Added to the fact that the bottle itself is housed in an imitation emerald snake-skin topper with a tassled chain, and you’ve got yourself an instant accessory. I mean as long as your pockets are large enough to stuff your cellphone and lipgloss, then this bottle would be the perfect “pseudo” clutch.

It’s been awhile since I’ve flipped the original purpose of something to better suit my needs, so you can only imagine how excited I was to come up with this new idea. Caught up in the emotions, I actually ended up carrying the perfume bottle around with me all day while out and about running some errands. So I can attest to how accessory-worthy that it was.
