Happy Sunday! What a crazy work week it’s been. Nothing has been calming me more than a fresh batch of flowers lately. Like I said in the past, I never used to put much thought to flowers, but this past year has seriously changed. There’s something about a beautiful and well put together bouquet sitting beautifully on a table that instantly perks me up.
Ever since I purchased my first bouquet of flowers this summer, I’ve been hooked on refreshing my florals everytime they die. It’s an expensive addiction, but it definitely keeps to keep the mood positive around here. I never thought that I’d be the type that would be so into fresh florals all the time but my outlook has significantly changed within the past couple of months.
Yes, flowers can be quite expensive, but it’s all about knowing where to get them that helps out with the cost. One of my favourite local florists that I often visit is Yang’s. It’s no local secret as most of the other bloggers that I know often pick up their florals from there as well. Think of the shop as sort of a Costco of flowers. As long as a bloom is in season, you can probably find it in a large selection of colours available. My favourite time of the year is when the Rinunculus and Peonies are in bloom. Granted, those are quite pricier than your basic tulip or carnation, but their delicate details really speak to me.
You would think that a bouquet like this would have costed me roughly $50, so would you be surprised if I told you that I only paid around $30 for it? My favourite part of Yang’s is how affordable the flowers are, and just how easy it is to build together your perfect bouquet. Which just goes to show, that sometimes if you know where to go, you don’t necessarily have to shell out a fortune for beautiful flowers.
